Course Focus:
- Plate Changeover Techniques and Procedures
- Reducing Printed Scrap
- Color Vision Testing
- Introduction to Dots, Halftones, and Process Printing
- Press Labs- Grayscales, Line work, Process Printing
- Measuring dot gain and ink density with a densitometer / Balancing color on press
- Setting a colorhead for optimum results
- Troubleshooting: Inks, Blankets, Plates, Rollers
- Understanding the Ink Fountain and Colorhead
This course is comprised of classroom as well as on-press instruction. Each trainee will have the opportunity to balance roller pressures and ink flow during the press labs.
Details:
- All trainees will receive a Training Workbook, a magnifying loupe, and a Certificate of Completion
- Course syllabus can be modified based on specific needs / experience levels of the client
- (3) 8 hour days, 60% on press, 40% classroom ( Length and duration of class can be modified upon request )
- Press time and un-printed product will be required for the on-press instruction
- Instructor has 30 years experience in dry offset print production, training, and pre-press
